[ music | Hey Boy - The Blow ]

New Years Resolution:

Find a boy.
Find a good boy.
Find a good boy who'll care for you.
Find a good boy who'll care for and about you.
Find a good boy who'll love you no matter how annoying, clingy, emotional, weird you are.
Find happiness.

Happy New Years.

Splish Splash [Wed]
[ music | We are Lost - The Like ]

I have come to the conclusion that college is nothing more than a giant washing machine. Like really - think about it. What does a washer do that college doesn't, in some non-literal way, do?

1. The obvious. Cleaning.
You get to start fresh and clean. *sniff* Mmm....Tide. You've spent the last 4+ years of your life with the same group of people who all think the same exact things they thought all throughout high school. You've been "that" person. But at college, you don't have that same group of 200-300 students who know you as "that" person. You're washed clean.

2. Temperature Control
Cold for Dark colors
Warm for Casual
Or something to that effect. Honestly, I just throw everything in there, but I hear you're supposed to use that temperature control thing. College reflects how you feel about it. If you're feeling at ease and casual, it'll be a warm environment. You'll thrive. Hoo-ha for the best years of your life, right? But if you're lonely or depressed, or just sad, it's going to be dark and cold.
Temperature Control, people. Or whatever it's called.

3. Spin Cycle
Maybe quite literally. I hear if you get drunk enough, the world can tilt a little. Moving on. You're totally thrown for a spin when you start school. Chances are, what you were expecting isn't what you got. You're values and morales will be questioned. You'll be confused. Feel the motion sickness?

4. The lost sock theory
Maybe that's technically the dryer's fault, but we're throwing it in here anyway. (Don't question, it works. Somehow). I lost my toothbrush the other day. The bathroom is literally right next to my room but some how, in those short few seconds, I managed to lose it. It happens with a lot of things. Toothbrushes, Socks, Friends. Feel familiar? When's the last time you had a sleepover with your best buds? Or played dress up? People grow apart. But try not to lose them. Two socks are better than one, lonely one.

5. Staining, stretching, and all that extra crap.
You'll be bad. Admit it. You really want to be bad too.  - Stain </3
Freshman 15 anyone? - Stretching
Other stuff I didn't feel like thinking about - Extra Crap.

Oh. And Simon LeBlanc of Project Runway. May this be a lesson to you - having a cool name gets you NO WHERE. You are out </3
They had it so easy...</3

[ music | Back to Black - Amy Winehouse ]

Have you ever wikipedia'd your birthday?
I guess that's just how bored I am.

May 1 is the 121st day of the year (122nd in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar. There are 244 days remaining until the end of the year.

Some (Not so interesting) events that have happened on previous May days <3

1218 - Rudolph I of Germany, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire is born (d. 1291) (Yea? Yea?)

1576 - Stefan Batory, the reigning Prince of Transylvania, marries Anna Jagiellon and they become the co-rulers of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. (Transexual Transylvania~)

1751 - The first cricket match is played in America.  ( WHOO!)

1786 - Opening night of the opera The Marriage of Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in Vienna, Italy. (Mozart's pretty cool...)

1834 - The British colonies abolish slavery. (Score.)

1863 - American Civil War: The Battle of Chancellorsville begins. (Well, we learned about it. That was pretty cool, right?)

1930 - The dwarf planet Pluto is officially named. (Only to be knocked down...*tear*)

1945 - A German newsreader officially announces that Adolf Hitler has "fallen at his command post in the Reich Chancellery fighting to the last breath against Bolshevism and for Germany".  (Biznotch is DEAD. Go May 1 *flagwave*)

1983 - Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis is awarded the Lenin Peace Prize. (I have -no- idea what that means...it just sounded cool)

1989 - Disney-MGM Studios opens at Walt Disney World near Orlando, Florida, United States. (MGM  opened ON my birthday. Sweet -heart- I knew this love had to come from somewhere..)

1989 - ALONDRA THOMAS - bestestAlondrainthewholewideworld!- is born. (:D)

May first is alsoooooo : May Day (Yay),  Lei Day in Hawaii (Funny. Double Yay), and the Czech Republic's National Love Day (*heart*).

Yeah. Not so cool -slashheart-

The End [Thu]
[ mood | lonely ]
[ music | Still Hurting - The Last Five Years ]

I need to think of new names....

The End.

Ruth let the door click shut behind her. The sound – so small on its own – echoed in the empty apartment, startling the woman. Taking a shaky breath, she pushed herself away from the door and to the other side of the living room, laying her keys on the naked work desk that stood there. Two months ago it would have been littered with paper – drafts and brainstorms, doodles and notes – but all traces of Lucas, the papers and clothing alike, were packed and sitting in the hallway. It was almost as if he hadn’t existed at all, except for the lingering spice that refused to eradicate itself from small spaces of the apartment. Sniffs of it clung to the desk and the bedroom and no matter how much febreeze and air fresheners she let loose, the fragrance wouldn’t leave her.

But Lucas had. It was wonderful, Ruth, But it’s dead now. Packed his drafts and underwear and left. Ruth didn’t fight him - couldn’t bring herself to see the point. Why fight for someone who so obviously doesn’t want you. As far as she was concerned, he was the weak one. He was the one to run away at the first sign of trouble. He was the one to go looking for something “better”.

You don’t run away because it’s simple. You don’t give up because it’s hard. Lucas was the one who had lost out.

But Ruth was the one left hurting.

Still hurting.

"If..." [Sun]
[ music | Almost Lover - A Fine Frenzy ]

Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream

I'm trying not to think about you
Can't you just let me be?

"Imma ship soon. Lady said she'll try to get me January, if not, then November! :D Land of Sand and Sunshine."

So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you

"Hopeful timeline:

November/january = Training
Approx. 6-7 weeks

June-Aug= Deploy Training
Approx. 2 months

Aug= Deployment
Approx. 12-18 months"

I should've known you'd bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

Ode To Divorce
Regina Spektor

The food that I'm eating
Is suddenly tasteless
I know I'm alone now
I know what it tastes like
So break me to small parts
Let go in small doses
But spare some for spare parts
There might be some good ones

Like you might make a dollar

I'm inside your mouth now
Behind your tonsils
Peeking over your molars
You're talking to her now
And you've eaten something minty
And you're making that face that I like
And you're going in, in for the kill, kill
For the killer kiss, kiss for the kiss, kiss

I need your money, it'll help me
I need your car and I need your love [x2]
So won't you help a brother out?
Won't you help a brother out?
Won't you help a brother out, out, out, out, out?

So break me to small parts
Let go in small doses
But spare some for spare parts
You might make a dollar
Dollar, might make a dollar

So won't you help a brother out?
Won't you help a brother out?
Won't you help a brother out, out, out, out, out?

So break me to small parts
Let go in small doses
But spare some for spare parts
There might be some good ones
You might make a dollar
(There might be some good ones)
There might be some good ones
(You might make a dollar)
You might make a dollar
(There might be some good ones)
There might be some good ones
